This Photoshop training course will help you understand how to get started growing your essential job skills within Photoshop, as well as some of the other tools and best practices you need to succeed.

Overview

Adobe Photoshop Beginners will teach you the fundamentals that are important to any Photoshop project from marketing to graphic design.  We have designed this class to cover the fundamentals so that you can learn the skills you need and immediately be able to apply to your own design workflow.  This class includes a mix of structured activities, as well as project-based assignments.

As you work through the sessions of Adobe Photoshop Beginners, each class will be a hands-on and intensive workshop, designed to help make difficult topics easier to understand.  Your instructor, an Adobe Certified Expert, will work with you closely to make sure that you avoid common mistakes in Photoshop and apply best practices when possible.

Class Objectives

Upon successful completion of the Adobe Photoshop Beginners class, students will be able to:

  • Explore and customize the Adobe Photoshop work area
  • Understand Image Resolution and image types
  • Work with selections
  • Work with layers and layer effects
  • Use basic photo corrections
  • Understand re-touching tools
  • Save images for web and print

Pre-requisites

  • Basic digital literacy including file management is required.
  • Introduction to Design Fundamentals is recommended, but not required.
  • It is required you install the latest Adobe Photoshop & Adobe Bridge software before starting class. Learn about Adobe CC student rates through DWC here or download a trial from Adobe.com

What format are these classes?

Stand-alone classes at DWC are focused skills workshops that teach in a specific area of a high demand career field. 

Often described as a "short course" format, these accelerated workshops can be attended as stand-alone or can be taken as part of a larger certificate program.

Certificate programs offer more comprehensive training to help lead you to empoyment, support & mentoring, portfolio building, and career coaching.
